EFPIA recognises that patients, researchers or the public are interested in knowing what new treatments are tested in clinical trials or what the results of these trials are. Therefore the pharmaceutical industry registers substantial information about their clinical trials at the time of initiation and publishes both positive and negative trial results through numerous channels (e.g., peer reviewed publications, EudraCT and clinicaltrials.gov) as set out in the Joint Position on the Disclosure of Clinical Trial Information via Clinical Trial Registries and Databases (2005 & 2009) and the Joint Position on the Publication of Clinical Trial Results in the Scientific Literature (2010).
