      EU HTA: If we want faster access to cancer treatment for all, we need to get it right

How will the new EU Health Technology Assessments (HTA) Regulation facilitate improving cancer outcomes?

Our aspiration is to get these treatments to patients as quickly as possible. However, the imminent implementation of the HTA Regulation and introduction of Joint Clinical Assessments (JCA) in 2025 create uncertainty about the speed at which breakthrough cancer treatments will reach patients in the future.

      Is the EU HTA Regulation ready for vaccine innovation and fill-in the promise of improved availability?

In just 7 months from now, the EU HTA Regulation (HTAR) will become applicable. The objectives set aside by the EU legislator will stop being a theoretical concept, hopefully translating into key performance indicators: efficiency of resources’ use, strengthening the HTAs quality, improvement of business predictability, and most importantly, improvement of the availability of innovative health technologies.
