EFPIA Annual Conference 2016
On 15/06/2016 (Radisson Hotel, Brussels)

This year's EFPIA Annual Conference will take place on 15 June 2016, at the Radisson Hotel in Brussels. The event will examine the challenges faced by healthcare systems in Europe, the exciting science that will play a key role in meeting these challenges and the long-term sustainability of healthcare delivery. An interactive exhibition will be set up to provide attendees with further insight into EFPIA’s current initiatives, which aim at facilitating a pan-European dialogue on the importance of shifting towards a model of outcomes-driven healthcare.

European Health Forum Gastein, Demographics and Diversity in Europe - New Solutions for Health

The EHFG provides a platform for discussion on which various stakeholders from the field of health policy-making come together to discuss the next steps for a healthier Europe. Over the years, the conference has become the leading annual health policy event in the EU. Participants and speakers come from government and administration, business and industry, and civil society, as well as science and academia.

This year, it is time for the 19th European Health Forum Gastein: “Demographics and Diversity in Europe - New Solutions for Health”. Europe faces unprecedented demographic change, and new solutions are needed to maintain sustainable health systems. Some of the underlying trends are: increased life-expectancy; changing fertility patterns; and internal and external migration. We invite you to discuss how these and other demographic challenges can be turned into opportunities at the EHFG 2016. The conference will take place in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, from 28th to 30th September 2016.

Participants included: Hans-Georg Eichler, Senior Medical Officer at the European Medicines Agency (EMA); Luk Maes, Executive Director, Regulatory Scientific Policies Europe, for Bristol-Myers Squibb; Ad Schuurman, Head of the Business Contact Centre & International Affairs, National Health Care Institute of the Netherlands (ZIN); and Sarah Garner Associate Director Science Policy and Research, National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
