Counterfeit: Don't buy into organized crime
17 January 2014

This week the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) launched a campaign to raise awareness among consumers of the $250 billion a year illicit trafficking of counterfeit goods. Fraudulent medicines are among the items highlighted in the campaign, particularly noted for the harm they can cause consumers. India hails polio-free 'milestone'

The big news in global health this week came from India, which marked three years since its last reported polio case. Media celebrated the moment as a landmark in the global fight against Polio, while India's health minister calling it a "monumental milestone".
