€85 million European programme targets novel antibiotics
14 February 2014

Anti-microbial resistance is a problem that has gained increasing attention from healthcare officials, media and the public at large over the past few years. A newly established six-year programme supported by the Innovative Medicines Initiative will bring together over 30 European universities, research institutes and pharmaceutical companies to develop new antibiotics. This article gives more detail on the project, the European Gram-Negative Antibacterial Engine -- or simply ENABLE, for short.
