Louise Houson serves as head of MSD’s Global Market Access organization with responsibility for enabling access and payer reimbursement for the company’s medicines and vaccines. Throughout her career, Louise has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to MSD’s mission of saving and improving lives, working with healthcare providers, patients and payers to support access to the inventions brought forward by MSD’s scientists. Louise joined the company in 1997 and has gained broad commercial experience across local and global functions. She has been the Managing Director of MSD in Ireland and in the UK. During her tenure in the UK, Louise navigated the market through Brexit preparations and worked with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robust business continuity plans. She also successfully led pricing negotiations with the UK government on behalf of the industry and was a member of the ABPI board. Most recently, Louise was the Global Commercial Leader for our HPV Vaccines. In this role, she advanced the commercial strategy for our HPV vaccines pipeline and worked across the globe to ensure access for patients in both reimbursed and private markets. Louise has a master’s degree in biological sciences from Oxford University.
