Our cookies
To enhance your experience on our website www.efpia.eu (the “Website”), many of our web pages use cookies. This Cookie Policy describes the different types of cookies that EFPIA uses in connection with the Website, and how you can manage them. Note that to the extent information collected through cookies constitutes personal information, the provisions in our Privacy Policy apply and complement this Cookie Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed in your computer’s browser to store your preferences. Cookies, by themselves, do not provide your email address or other personal information unless you choose to provide this information to EFPIA—for example, by registering for e-newsletters or completing a web form. Once you choose to provide personal information to a web page, this information may be linked to the data stored in the cookie. A cookie is like an identification card. It is unique to your computer and can be read only by the server that gave it to you.
Cookies are widely used in order to make websites work, or work in a better, more efficient way. They can do this because websites can read and write these files, enabling them to recognize you and remember important information that will make your use of a website more convenient (e.g., by remembering preference settings).
Certain types of cookies or cookie-like functionality may be placed or activated through browser add-ons, including, but not limited to, Adobe Flash. While these types of technologies may be stored differently, their functionality and purpose is generally similar to other cookies.
Cookies are often used in conjunction with “pixel tags” (also known as “web beacons” or “clear gifs”). Pixel tags are small images that EFPIA, its analytics providers, advertisers, and other third parties can use to interact with cookies and other tracking technologies.

EFPIA uses some essential cookies that are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through the Website and to use some of its features, such as access to secure areas. In addition, EFPIA uses other types of cookies, such as statistics and marketing cookies, as described in the list below, which are not strictly essential for the functioning of the Website.
Where required by law, EFPIA will only use non-essential cookies (i.e., cookies not strictly necessary (i) to providing you with a requested service or (ii) to carrying out the transmission of a communication via the Website), where you have consented to such cookies via EFPIA’s cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent to the use of non-essential cookies at any time as described under the “How to manage cookies” section below.
