The recently implemented In Vitro Diagnostics Regulation (IVDR) establishes a new regulatory framework for in vitro diagnostics in the EU to better ensure test accuracy and patient safety. However, current challenges to the implementation of IVDR are leading to delays in clinical trial initiation and posing hurdles to patients’ access to trials throughout Europe.
