Visualizing the HPV vaccine

The aim of the blog, according to the author David McCandless, is “how designed information can help us understand the world, cut through BS and reveal hidden connections, patterns and stories”, by visualizing information — facts, data, ideas, subjects, issues, statistics, questions — all with the minimum of words.
He recently wondered whether the HPV vaccine was safe.
In order to explain what is the vaccine is all about, he created a visual and tried to answer some questions such as the effects of the vaccine, what does the vaccine do?, potential lives saved by year, etc…
The visual is clear and simple. And much of the value of the post is not what you learn of it but in how the information is presented. Here, you actually see the information and you discover another way of thinking.
