Forging new therapies in cancer treatment

Roughly one in three individuals will be affected by cancer during their lifetime. Developing antibody-drug conjugates is one promising approach to combat cancer. Cancer drugs often have severe side effects because they attack not only the tumour cells but also other cells in the human body. Biochemist Dr. Anette Sommer and her colleagues are looking for new compounds to develop efficacious and better tolerated cancer therapies.
