EFPIA congratulates health category nominees ahead of 2015 MEP awards

In advance of the 2015 MEP Awards, EFPIA is exceedingly pleased to congratulate the three nominees short-listed in the health category, Daciana Octavia Sârbu, Alojz Peterle and Bart Staes. The award is set to be presented by Raquel Resendes, Government Affairs Manager at EFPIA at the Concert Noble in Brussels on 18 March 2015.

With the European Parliament's determination to drive forward health policy especially in areas that affect citizens, including tackling chronic disease, the role of individual MEPs within this framework is to be applauded. The individual who received the health award will be recognised for their tireless work in improving European health outcomes.

Gabriella Almberg, Director of Government Affairs at EFPIA said: "We're very pleased to present the MEP awards again as it reflects the valuable contribution by MEPs in the European Parliament to the healthcare sector. As much of the healthcare competence remains in the hands of the member states, it is all the more impressive that certain MEPs strive to make health a stand-out issue and to ensure it is high on the agenda in the Parliament."
