EFPIA responds to the announcement of the College of Commissioners and publication of their mission letters

Commenting on the announcement, EFPIA Director General, Nathalie Moll, said:

“EFPIA, Vaccines Europe and our members congratulate all the Commissioner-designates on their proposed roles.

Delivery of the agenda laid out in today's mission letters including the new European Strategy on Life Sciences, will require engagement between industry partners, relevant stakeholders, Member States and EU policy makers. It means ambitious and coherent policies from across a number of DGs - with oversight at the highest level of the European Commission. Swift Implementation of the recommendations to improve the competitiveness of the sector, contained in last week's report by Mario Draghi, will be fundamental to achieving success.

With over 9000 medicines and vaccines in development, supporting millions of jobs and contributing more to the European trade balance than any other, our sector is uniquely placed to help Europeans feel better and live longer, all while building the region's economic growth and resilience."
